How To Use

MIRAFLOW EXTRA STRENGTH DAILY CLEANER

 

Please read this information carefully and keep for future reference. 

DESCRIPTION:  Miraflow Extra Strength Daily Cleaner is sterile containing purified water, isopropyl alcohol-15.7% w/w, poloxamer 407 and amphoteric 10.  The cleaner contains no added preservatives.

ACTIONS:  Miraflow Extra Strength Daily Cleaner is designed to remove accumulated debris such as film and deposits from contact lenses.

INDICATIONS (REASONS TO USE):  Miraflow Extra Strength Daily Cleaner is indicated for use as a daily cleaner for the removal of film, deposits and other debris from soft (hydrophilic) silicone hydrogels and hard (PMMA) contact lenses.   Use each time the lenses are removed for either thermal (heat) or chemical (cold) disinfection systems.  Follow the recommendation of your health care professional when disinfecting your lenses.

CONTRADINDICATIONS (REASONS NO TO USE):  There are no known contraindications for the use of this product.  If you are allergic to any ingredient listed in the DESCRIPTION, do not use this product.

WARNINGS: DO NOT USE IN EYE.  SEVERE STINGING AND BURNING MAY RESULT IF INSTILLED IN THE EYE.  DO NOT INSERT LENSES THAT HAVE NOT BEEN THOROUGHTLY RINSED WITH STERILE SALINE (SOFT LENSES) and (PMMA LENSES).  If upon insertion of lens, stinging or burning occurs, remove the lens immediately and rinse again.

  • Do not touch the tip of the container to any surface as this may result in contamination.  Replace cap after use.
  • Do not transfer the cleaner to any other container as this may cause contamination.
  • Do not use if safety seal on bottle neck is broken or missing.
  • Cleaning is not a substitute for disinfection.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

SERIOUS INJURY TO THE EYE AND LOSS OF VISION MAY RESULT FROM PROBLEMS WITH CONTACT LENSES AND LENS CARE SOLUTIONS. 

Eye problems, including corneal ulcers and infections can develop rapidly.  Immediately remove your lenses and call or visit your eye care professional if you experience any adverse reactions such as:  eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, pain, unusual eye discharge, sensitivity to light or redness  of the eye.

Periodic eye examinations by your eye care professional are important.  Always follow your eye care professional’s directions and all labeling instructions for the proper us and care of your lenses.

Lenses should never be placed directly in the eye after cleaning.  Lenses must be thoroughly rinsed and disinfected after each cleaning procedure. 

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
  • Before handling lenses, wash hands thoroughly.  Optisoap is recommended.
  • Use before the expiration date marked on the carton and bottle.
  • Store at room temperature (60-80 F.)  Avoid excessive heat or cold.
  • NEVER SOAK ANY TYPE OF CONTACT LENS IN MIRAFLOW EXTRA STRENGTH DAILY CLEANER.

ADVERSE REACTIONS (PROBLEMS AND WHAT TO DO):

The following problems may occur:

  • Eyes sting, burn or itch
  • Excessive watering (tearing) or eyes
  • Unusual discharge (eye secretions)
  • Redness of the eyes
  • Reduced sharpness of vision (Visual acuity)
  • Blurred vision
  • Sensitivity to light (photophobia)
  • Dry eyes

If you notice any of the above problems immediately remove your lenses and examine them.  If the problem stops and the lenses appear undamaged, clean, rinse, disinfect and re-insert them.

If the problem continues or the lenses appear to be damaged, immediately remove the lenses and consult your eye care professional. 

If any of the above problems occur, a serious condition such as infections, corneal ulcer, neovascularization or iritis may be present.  Seek immediate professional identification of the problem and prompt treatment to avoid serious eye damage.

If you inadvertently place the cleaner in your eye, remove your lens immediately and rinse your eye with sterile saline or eye-wash solution.  Consult your eye care professional.

DIRECTIONS:  Always wash your hands before handling your lenses.  Dry with a lint-free towel. Clean and disinfect your lenses each time you remove them from your eyes.

SOFT LENSES AND SILICONE HYDROGELS

Place your lens in the palm of your hands.  Apply 1 or 2 drops of Miraflow Extra Strength Daily Cleaner to each lens surface and gently rub with the forefinger of the opposite hand.  Clean for about 15-20 seconds.  Rinse the lens thoroughly with sterile saline.  Do not use water to rinse soft lenses.  After rinsing, place the lens in a storage case.  Repeat the process with the other lens.  Disinfect lenses as per your eye care professional’s directions. 

HARD LENSES (PMMA)

After removing the lens from your eye, place 1 or 2 drops to each lens surface.  Gently rub between fingers for 15-20 seconds.  Rinse thoroughly with sterile saline.  Place lens in storage case.  Repeat process for the other lens.  Disinfect as per your eye care professional’s directions. 

HOW SUPPLIED:  Miraflow Extra Strength Daily Cleaner is supplied in sterile, 1 fl. oz (30ml) plastic bottles with a safety seal.  The number and expiration date are marked on the bottle.
